Synopsis

“The Shuffle” is the story of relationships, from beginning to end—what people always remember are the bookends. Brian and Jessica meet at last call at a bar. Brian gets barely more than Jessica’s name and hopes that she will show up at the date they’ve planned at a bowling alley. As Brian waits anxiously for her arrival, bowlers complete games and celebrate victory. When Jessica finally arrives the couple awkwardly grapples with first date nerves and insecurity. As the first date evolves, the couple’s last meeting breaks their awkward progress. Scenes of their last night together disrupt the memory of their first date. They struggle for conversation at first and eventually find a playful stride. However, their summer break up looms. A couple begins and a couple ends.
